2007 New Year Resolutions
- If for any unfathomable reason I have not yet paid my annual subscription, I will do
so as a matter of urgency
- I will make sure that I inform my captain of any unavailability at the earliest
opportunity, not 7pm on a Friday
- I will offer to pay my match tax immediately after each game
- I will not attempt to drink my own bodyweight in alcohol nor engage in any
rumbustious immoral activities on the eve of a game
- I will ensure that I have purchased a smart new club shirt to be freshly laundered
and worn for each game
- I will respect the decision of my captain and match officials at all times and refrain
from offering my opinion of where they've got it so obviously wrong
- I will make some effort to keep fit between 5pm Saturday and midnight of the
following Friday
Men's First XI
Well the Kent Cup adventure may have been ended by a clinical Holcombe but they are
still very much in the promotion hunt and have the HA Vase to look forward to, (see below)
“On behalf of the First Team squad I would like to thank everyone who braved the chilling,
arctic temperatures to loyally support us on Sunday. We are sorry that we could not
provide you with a goal to cheer about but the encouraging support was appreciated
throughout. We may not have beaten them but we definitely out-supported them. We hope
that Sunday’s experience can help us gain promotion and rise the leagues just as
Holcombe have done! Many thanks. Sam”
Support welcome at all games - start times and venues available on the 1st XI webpage
A picture special from that memorable Canterbury game is now online HERE Apologies for
the delay in getting it posted and many thanks to those who supplied the pics
HA Vase: 5 (or should that be 11) go mad in Dorset
The draw for R2 sees the 1st make a Sunday trip on 4th February to Dorset to take on
Wimbourne Wayfarers
Player Appeal!
The ladies 1sts are having massive problems getting a team onto the pitch each
Saturday. Injury and unavailability mean that most weeks it is a struggle to get 11 on the
pitch, and we are often goalie-less. Obviously we aren't going to be winning many games
if this continues and are in serious danger of relegation. We are looking for
wives/girlfriends/sisters/daughters or anyone who can play and is available on Saturdays
to come and help us out. If you have such a person at home or know of anyone, PLEASE
get them to contact Charlotte on 01622 890042.
